Carpools, Shared Rides & Parking

Driving alone to Mission Bay is highly discouraged. Parking is limited.

Street parking is metered, with dynamic pricing (prices change based on time of day and availability).

There are only two public parking garages at Mission Bay: UCSF Medical Center on Third Street and the garage at Nelson Rising Way (across from Kaiser Medical Center).

Car-shares in and near Mission Bay are available from Getaround, Maven and ZipCar.  Each has different types of vehicles and options.

Most employers at Mission Bay have internal carpooling programs; please see your HR or Employee Transportation Coordinator for more information.

Waze and Scoop offer a free, public ride-share service through their apps. 

Lyft and Uber provide both single rides and ‘shared’ rides.

Share a ride to work with coworkers who live nearby. Commute with Enterprise will provide a recent-model SUV, crossover or van. Everyone splits the costs and driving duties, saving you valuable time and money.  This program is sponsored by UCSF.
